WHAT IS STEM?

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math! Within the STEM Mentoring program, children will learn the ins and outs of all the fields underneath the STEM umbrella. Through a multitude of hands-on experiments, small group projects, educational field trips, and multimedia, students and mentors will dive into the depths of the field while establishing and maintaining conversation about the topics. By providing consistent, high-quality, STEM-focused mentoring experiences, STEM Mentoring encourages a reduction in high-risk behaviors, improvement of academic success indicators, and an overall increase in knowledge of and interest in STEM topics and careers for participating youth.
